Terms of Use & Disclaimer
Please read the following terms carefully before using HUMBLE.
Purpose
HUMBLE (Hamilton Uveal Melanoma Brachytherapy Long-term Estimator) is an AI-driven tool developed by the Hamilton Eye Institute at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). It predicts survival probabilities for patients diagnosed with uveal melanoma based on specific clinical features.
Intended Use
HUMBLE is intended for use by healthcare professionals as a clinical decision-support tool. It is designed to supplement—not replace—clinical judgment, individualized patient assessments, and professional diagnostic methods.
Not an FDA-Approved Device
HUMBLE is provided for research and educational purposes only. It is not an FDA-approved or CE-marked diagnostic or prognostic device. It has not been cleared or approved by any regulatory agency for clinical use.
Professional Judgment & Acceptance of Risk
While HUMBLE provides valuable survival predictions, it is not intended to replace clinical expertise. By using HUMBLE, you acknowledge and accept that:
- The creators, developers, and hosting institution are not responsible for any clinical decisions or outcomes resulting from reliance on the tool's predictions.
- Results should be interpreted with caution and considered as one of many factors in clinical decision-making.
- Ultimate treatment decisions rest on physician expertise and the evolving landscape of ocular oncology.
Limitations
The training data reflect particular patient populations, protocols, and time periods at specific institutions. Certain risk variables (e.g., genetic markers, systemic comorbidities, treatment variations) may not be fully captured in the model. Accordingly, real-world outcomes may differ from predictions. We recommend interpreting all predictions as probabilistic guidance.
Data Privacy
Patient data entered into HUMBLE is stored only temporarily in your browser session to enable PDF report generation. No patient data is permanently saved, logged, or transmitted to any external service. However, users should exercise caution when entering identifiable patient information on any web-based tool.
Intellectual Property
HUMBLE and its underlying models, code, and content are the intellectual property of the Hamilton Eye Institute and UTHSC. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial use is prohibited without written permission.
